Middle School

The middle school runs on a trimester schedule for the year.
Students have 7 learning/class blocks (45 min) each day, on a rotating schedule

Unified Arts:
Classes in Unified Arts (Wellness, Music, Art, Technology) are all trimester long classes that meet every other day.
Each student will take a general grade 6 art, music, and technology class. All students will also take an engineering class within our science department.
Band and chorus are full year classes and if a student signs up for band or chorus, they will not take a general art, music, or technology class. Band and chorus students will still have the opportunity to take electives!

World Language
Incoming 6th grade students have the option of either French or Spanish. This will be their world language choice for all 3 years at DMS.
Electives
Beginning in 6th grade, students have the chance to tailor a bit of their school schedule to their personal interest. Each year they can choose from a robust set of electives offered at DMS.
