Graduation Requirements

In addition to meeting the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Competency Determination standards, Dedham High School requires successful completion of the following:

1.  Dedham Public School students must achieve a total of one hundred and eleven (111) credits. All course credits as outlined in the Course Directory/Program of Studies, including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, and other core/elective requirements.

2.  Students must take and pass the following CORE requirements:

•  4 years of English

•  3 years of Science

•  4 years of Mathematics

•  3 years of Social Studies

•  2 semesters of Health/Wellness

•  4 years of Physical Education

•  2 semesters or a full year course in Technology or Fine Arts 

•  2 years of the same World Language

3.  All students are required to complete forty (40) hours of Community Service.

4.  Students must take and successfully complete a minimum of twenty-five (25) credits in the senior year.

5.  Students must be enrolled in six (6) courses unless approved by an administrator.

6.  A Capstone or Senior Portfolio, demonstrating postsecondary readiness (anticipated Spring 2027).
