  • After the successful approval of a Town Warrant at the Fall 2018 Dedham Town Meeting, Dedham Public Schools have been working with traffic engineering firm VHB to  undertake a comprehensive circulation study with the goal of evaluating and providing alternative solutions for addressing ongoing safety and congestion concerns in the Avery Elementary, Dedham Middle School, Dedham High School campuses and surrounding areas.   The  proposed solutions from the study will seek to improve safety of student and staff travel to school, help address congestion, access and manage ongoing drop-off/pick-up issues.  Based on data collection and community input, the study will yield several options for consideration, along with the pros/cons and potential cost implications of each.

Over the last 10 months, three data collection studies have occured:  Spring (April 25th); Summer (July 10th) and Fall (October 4th).

The study is now reviewing possible proposals and soliciting community, parent and neighbor input on each.   The most recent community input meeting was held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 with over 60 community members attending and providing insight and commentary into the current solutions identified.

This site will provide ongoing updates and access to presentations, the latest project information and an online form for additional community input.
