DHS Spanish Classes Enjoy Tasty Cultural Lesson

Chef Krysia Villón visited students from eight DHS Spanish classes with tasty treats and stories that helped bring lessons on culture and food to life.

Chef Villón focused her presentation on the Indigenous roots of ingredients in our food.  She shared stories with students about her family's cooking in Peru and how it influenced her to go to culinary school here in America, then study abroad in Peru.

Students were also able to enjoy three different types of empanadas from Chef Villón's business along with her chicha morada beverage. They all agreed that they were  ¡muy deliciosas!

Thanks to DHS Spanish teacher Jennifer who applied and was awarded a DEF grant so that Krysia could talk to our Spanish classes.
