On September 20, 2022, DHS held the first practice of its new Unified Basketball Team.  The team is run by the DHS athletic department and the Special Olympics. Made up of students with and without intellectual disabilities, the team will practice two times a week for one hour and play in several games against other school districts.   The team,  coached by Louise D'Amato, is recognized by the MIAA and is considered a DHS  varsity sport.
