  • New DEIJ Conversation Series Launches at DHS

    On February 14, 2022, Dedham Public Schools launched a new DEI& Conversation Series program at DHS, with the goal of offering students authentic representational voices and experiences.   The first event featured Anthony Valentine of Valentine Inspires KLTR, a motivational speaker for youth on self-esteem, diversity, anti-bullying, self-love, and overcoming obstacles.

  • DHS Welcomes Guest Speaker - Jennifer De Leon

    On Thursday, Oct. 14, the World Language, Library and English departments welcomed author and guest speaker, Jennifer De Leon. She spoke with a large group of World Language students about the importance of recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month and the many influences Latinos and Hispanics have had on our country.

  • DEI & J and Diversity Talks Partnership

    The Dedham Public Schools has partnered with Diversity Talks, which specializes in increasing student voice and agency grounded in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. This partnership will strengthen our diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy by bringing student voices to the forefront and equipping them with the skills necessary for systemic change by examining inequities within the classroom and school community.

  • Creating Equity Action Teams

    An important goal of the Dedham Public Schools is to increase the representation in texts inclusive of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, national origin, language, disability, and socioeconomic status by providing culturally, linguistically diverse, and enabling texts to support teaching and learning across Pre-K to Grade 12.
