  • DHS Senior Updates April 13, 2021

    View the lastest updates sent to the Class of 2021 regarding senior activities, including Prom, which will not be held. The decision regarding Prom was made after survey feedback from the Class of '21 indicated they did not want to hold the event under the required MA state guidelines. DHS will continue to support the Class of 2021 as the guidelines change and other opportunities arise.

  • Dedham Public Schools FY2022 Budget Book Now Available

    The Dedham School Committee unanimously voted to approve this budget request at their meeting on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. The proposed FY2022 budget request returns the focus of Dedham Public Schools operations to our mission of student engagement, inclusion and opportunity. We seek to recover some of the reductions made last year in order to balance the FY21 Budget. Specifically, we need to restart our efforts and commitments to high quality educator professional development, and the continued evolution of our district’s comprehensive investment in district-based special education programming.

  • June 5th DHS Class of 2021 Graduation Plans

    DHS will hold the Class of 2021 Graduation at 11am on June 5th (June 6th rain date) outdoors at Memorial Field. The commencement ceremony will follow all safety guidelines issue by the State as of April 28th. Congrats DHS Class of 2021!

  • Local College Scholarships

    The Dedham Local Scholarship application is due on Friday, April 30. All seniors are encouraged to apply through the universal application available in Naviance. The local scholarship program includes over 130 scholarships and students considering a trade, 2 year college or 4 year university qualify for consideration.

  • DPS Return to Full In-Person Learning

    Dedham Schools will see the return of all students in Grades K-5 to full time in person learning 5 days per week beginning Monday, April 5, and all Dedham Middle School students beginning Monday, April 26. Additional Information and a link to the District's plan can be found here.

  • Student Spotlight: Jack Y 4th Grader at Greenlodge

    On March 18th, every third, fourth and fifth grade classroom across the Dedham School District got a new soccer ball for recess, thanks to the efforts of Jack Yandresevits, a 4th grader at Greenlodge.

  • March is School Social Work Month

    March is National Social Work month and March 7th through the 13th has been declared School Social Work Week. The Dedham Public Schools are committed to the social-emotional wellbeing of our students and have School Social Workers at every level, with two in our elementary schools, two at Dedham Middle School (DMS) and one at Dedham High School (DHS). Additionally, DPS is training social work interns from Boston College and Bridgewater State University this school year.

  • NEW: COVID Quarantine Guidelines

    On Wednesday, March 3 the Dedham School Committee voted to approve revised COVID Quarantine Guidelines for the District. These guidelines allow the option (in non-household exposures) for people who are considered close contacts of a positive COVID-19 case to return from quarantine with testing after as few as 7 days. These revised guidelines follow CDC recommendations and will remain in effect for the District for all students and staff.

  • NEW: Pooled COVID Testing Program

    Thanks to our staff and students in 1st & 5th grade at Greenlodge Elementary for helping us launch the new COVID-19 Pooled Testing Program. Last week 75 staff and students participated in the testing program. Testing will be rolled out to all Dedham Schools - expanding at Greenlodge this week, then into other schools over the next couple of weeks.   • DMS Grade 8 Science Explore Gravity

    The 8th Grade Boylston Team completed their unit on gravity at the end of 2020 - and created some amazing ways to showcase what they learned. Working with teacher, Sean Bowles, instead of a test, students were asked to create a moving model to answer the question: How does gravity manipulate the universe? Take a look at a few examples of how this team creatively applied their knowledge of Gravity:

    Included in this year‘s special virtual community celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are personal statements from Dedham students.   • NEW: Family Training and Support Office Hours

    Office hours will provide dedicated time for families to ask questions and hear answers from Dedham faculty on student use of Zoom and Google Classroom in the remote learning environment. These office hour sessions are intended to focus on the technical skills necessary to use the technologies effectively.

  • Bus Application & Safety Information

    On September 2, 2020 the Dedham School Committee voted to waive all bus fees while school is in a Hybrid Learning model. All Dedham families with children registered to participate in the hybrid model are eligible to apply for busing. Families who wish to have students ride the bus on days when they are scheduled for in-person learning must complete BOTH a Bus Application form and sign a Code of Conduct statement.
