Finance & Operations

The Finance & Operations office is dedicated to ensuring effective and efficient operation of all systems and structures that support teaching, learning, and high levels of student growth and achievement.

Led by the Deputy Superintendent, the Finance & Operations department is composed of over 100 employees and has broad responsibility for the business office, the development and management of the District’s operating and capital budgets, all transportation services, food services, facilities and maintenance, traffic directors, and human resources.  

Our team is proud to serve the community, approximately 2,700 students and the 575 employees who provide an amazing learning experience for Dedham’s youth. 
 

Fiscal Stewardship

We work hard to ensure that the needs of our students, our staff and our community are at the heart of every financial decision.

Dedham Public Schools annual operating budget is developed and approved by the Dedham School Committee in February of the prior fiscal year.   The budget is then submitted for Town approval and vote during the Spring Town Meeting.
