Employees of the Dedham Public Schools are provided benefits through the Town of Dedham.
Open Enrollment - 2025
Please be advised that Dedham will be holding open enrollment this year from April 14th through April 25, 2025. Our benefits fair will be held on April 14th from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm in the Select Board room. The benefits fair is a great opportunity to ask our vendors questions about your insurance.
Below is a benefits comparison chart and the new rates that will be effective July 1, 2025. A few reminders about the open enrollment process are listed below:
- If you are currently enrolled in our insurance plan(s) and you do not wish to make any changes, you do not have to do anything. Your insurance will roll over to next fiscal year.
- You must re-enroll in your flexible spending account (dependent care and/or medical) in order for it to be effective next fiscal year (July 1, 2025 -June 30, 2026)
- If you are currently enrolled in the Opt-Out program, you will not be required to submit a new opt-out form with satisfactory proof of alternate health insurance coverage. The prior proof of alternative health insurance letter that has already been provided is sufficient.
- If you are enrolled in a high-deductible health plan and you have a health savings account, you may contribute additional money. You may contribute extra money to your HSA through payroll deduction at any time during the year.
- You cannot be enrolled in both a flexible spending account and health savings account at the same time.
- In order to enroll in our Opt-Out program, you must have been enrolled in the Town of Dedham’s insurance for at least the last two years and provide alternative coverage elsewhere. Our Opt-Out program pays $2,000 for individual alternative coverage and $4,000 for alternative family coverage.
- All rates will remain the same for voluntary benefits such as dental, vision, disability insurance etc.
