School Facilities
The Dedham School Department operates seven school facilities that provide dedicated space for the teaching and learning needs of approximately 540 employees and 2,790 children in grades K-12. These school facilities account for over 700,000 sq ft of space, with an average age of 61.5 years. The operation and maintenance of the District’s facilities requires careful and thorough monitoring of structures, mechanical systems, and grounds. These responsibilities are managed by the Director of Facilities and carried out by 27 full time maintenance and custodial employees.

Capital Projects
Between 2020 and 2025 the District, with the support of the Town, has invested approximately $7 million in capital repairs, rehabilitation, and facility enhancement. These investments improved all School Department properties and focused on critical mechanical and structural needs, school safety, and enhancing the communities experience in their use of the District’s facilities.
