We will be taking attendance during each class period. Students at home are expected to log into their virtual class meetings at 8:45 am. Students must be present with cameras turned on so that the teacher can interact with them. Students who miss too many virtual classes will be subject to the school attendance policy. Thanks to our staff and students in 1st & 5th grade at Greenlodge Elementary for helping us launch the new COVID-19 Pooled Testing Program. Last week 75 staff and students participated in the testing program. Testing will be rolled out to all Dedham Schools - expanding at Greenlodge this week, then into other schools over the next couple of weeks. See some photos from our first testing participants in action!
The 8th Grade Boylston Team completed their unit on gravity at the end of 2020 - and created some amazing ways to showcase what they learned. Working with teacher, Sean Bowles, instead of a test, students were asked to create a moving model to answer the question: How does gravity manipulate the universe? Take a look at a few examples of how this team creatively applied their knowledge of Gravity:
In order to keep providing students with the opportunity to attend school in-person, it is critical that everyone continue to follow safe practices when it comes to COVID-19. These regulations were established in agreement with the Dedham Board of Health. They are now in effect for all faculty, staff and students of Dedham Public Schools for at least the next five weeks, including the February vacation break (February 13-21). Our schools are carefully reviewing every student’s health and safety attestation form. If a student has not completed this attestation, that student will be excluded from classrooms until we confirm compliance. We appreciate your careful review of this guidance. Thank you for your continued cooperation, transparency, honesty and communication.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, registrars will not be taking in person appointments. Once you have completed your online registration and compiled all necessary documentation, please contact the appropriate student registrars.
