Strategic Plan Explanation

Thank you for your participation in developing our new strategic plan. Your opinions and suggestions were critical in the preparation of the school district's five year strategic plan. This plan was designed to improve the overall educational experience of our children. The Core Value Survey was the first of two surveys distributed throughout the community to request public input.

Once the core values were established, the steering committee (see membership list on side menu) proposed the vision and mission statements that provided the specific guidelines for incorporating the core values into the school system. The proposed vision and mission statements were distributed as a second survey for public contributions before being finalized. The three foundational assertions, Core Values, Mission Statement, and Vision Statements form the Strategic Plan. The plan was approved by the school committee. The Strategic Plan guides the Dedham Public School District's focus and efforts for the next five years.

The mission of the Dedham Public Schools, in partnership with the community, is to promote excellence in learning, self-discipline, and motivation.

VISION:

Each graduate of the Dedham Public Schools will confidently pursue personal excellence through continued independent inquiry and learning and exhibit socially responsible decision-making within a dynamic and diverse global community.
