General Tips:

  • Scan the newspaper or internet to find new graphs you can analyze. Make sure you understand what the horizontal and vertical axes represent.
  • Do the math in the supermarket (unit price) and in situations with tax, discounts, etc.
  • Take the time to figure out what is really being asked.
  • Label what variables and number represent.
  • Write all of your work down.
  • Draw pictures or label/mark given diagrams.
