Summer School Calendar
Summer school courses are only available to Dedham High School students in grades 9-12. All courses are 19 days in length. The program will run Monday-Thursday. Students who receive a final failing grade(F) but have passed at least two terms (or have a final average between 50-59) may regain credit for the course by successfully completing the Summer School program at Dedham High School.
Academic expectations are the same as during the school year. Work must be completed according to the standards set by the Massachusetts Department of Secondary Education frameworks. Students must comply with all rules regarding attendance and behavior in order to earn full credit for a course.
Guidelines:
- Students with more than two (2) absences from any class may be asked to withdraw and will be given a final grade or granted credit for the course.
- Two (2) tardies with be the equivalent of one (1) absence.
- In no case will tuition be refunded because of the student’s inability to meet attendance requirements.
- No transportation will be provided to or from Dedham High School.
- The Summer School program does not have a nurse on staff. Please complete the students health information form provided in this booklet and return it with the registration form.
- Students who bring a bicycle to school are required to securely lock them on the outside bicycle rack.
- Students may not use lockers during the Summer School program and are required to stay in the designated program area of the building.
- All guidelines and expectations as outlined in the Dedham High School handbook and code of conduct are in effect during the Summer School program. Students who do not adhere to these expectations may be asked to leave the program and will not receive credit for course work and tuition will not be refunded.
- Students who receive a grade of “F” at the mid-term (10 class sessions) may be dropped from the course at the discretion of the teacher and the building administration. No refunds will be given if a student is dropped at mid-term.

Who may attend?
Summer school courses are only open to Dedham High School students only.
How do I register?
You may register in person in the Dedham High School Guidance Office between the hours of 7:30am-2:30pm Monday through Friday or online by clicking here.
Can I pay my fee online?
Yes! You can now register and pay by visiting our online payment vendor, Unibank. Click on the Summer School link to pay for classes online. Online registration accepts MasterCard, Discover or electronic payment directly from your checking account.
What is the class schedule?
There are two different sessions: Session I and Session II. Session I meets from 8:30am-10:10am and Session II meets from 10:20am-12:00pm. When registering please include which courses need to be taken.

Where are classes held?
All courses will be held at Dedham High School, 140 Whiting Avenue, Dedham. Room assignments will be posted in the school lobby.
How much do courses cost?
Courses cost $200 each.
