Good evening Members of the Class of 2011, Parents, and Families,
This is Superintendent June Doe. As you know there is a ceremony planned for tomorrow evening at 7pm at the high school in order to recognize you as graduates and make a sincere attempt to honor you and your accomplishment as you deserve because the ceremony planned for you last Wednesday was a failure. I sincerely apologize to each of you because I failed to assure that the conclusion to your senior year was perfectly executed. I failed to make the right decision to cancel the plans for the Endicott event by noon. My gut instinct was to cancel because the forecast for Wednesday evening was rain. I accept full responsibility for not acting on my own instinct and failing to make the correct call. I am deeply sorry for failing you and your families, and for the resulting distress and incredible disappointment experienced by all. I have known most every member of this class since the sixth grade and I assure you that my work for the last seven years has been dedicated to providing the best educational experience for each of you so you would be well prepared as graduates of Dedham High School and be able to go on to to successful futures in your chosen paths. I have complete faith in each of you that you will be able to accomplish your personal goals. However, I personally am sick about my failure to guarantee a wonderful celebration for you because you are special, I am proud of you and proud of this Class and we wanted it to be a great evening for you and your families. Tomorrow evening is a humble effort to show you and your families that you are very important to us and deserve the recognition you did not receive. I hope you will let us honor you as graduates of the Class of 2011.
