The Dedham Special Education Parent Advisory Council

Welcomes

You!

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Dedham Special Education Parents Advisory Council, (SEPAC), is to assist, educate, and support families in Dedham who have children with special needs that require specific health, learning, and functional support to access the curriculum and extra-curricular activities. This is known as Special Education.

Many parents struggle to understand eligibility for a Special Education Plan. A Special Education Plan with consist of either an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Section 504 Plan. Once a Special Education Plan, is in place, there are many facets involved in maintaining an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Section 504 Plan. Obtaining the necessary knowledge to make sure your child has the necessary support for his or her special need is a beginning step in becoming an advocate for your child. Then you, a parent advocate armed with knowledge, can guide your child's education within the Dedham Public School System.
